Stock Painter
هذه الصفحة لم تُترجم بعد، لذا تُعرض النسخة الإنجليزية.
The Stock Painter assigns stocks to panels by pointing and clicking in the model. Activate it from the Cabybara toolbar or menu ("Stock Painter"); it opens its companion Stock Picker window automatically and remembers the stock you used last time. Closing the picker exits the tool; Escape or choosing another tool exits too.
The Stock Picker window
A small floating list of the catalog, with a search box, type filter chips (All / Sheet / Solid / Veneer / Marble / Hardware / Edge) and a reload button. Each row shows the stock's color swatch, name, type, subtype, thickness and hardware length. Clicking a row makes it the active stock immediately - there is no OK button. While the search box is empty, the first row is (Remove stock): selecting it switches the tool to remove mode, where clicks clear a panel's stock instead of setting one.
- Arrow keys move through the rows, Enter or Space picks the focused row; Enter in the search box picks the first match. Escape clears the search, or closes the picker (and the tool) when the search is empty.
- The "Apply stock material on paint" checkbox (on by default, remembered) controls whether painting also applies the stock's catalog material to the panel; with it off, painting only writes the invisible stock assignment.
- An empty catalog shows an "Open Stock Catalog..." button.
Painting
Hover any panel: it highlights with a color that tells you what a click will do, the tooltip shows the panel type, its current stock and its thickness, and the status bar shows the active stock and the hover target.
- Green - the click will paint the active stock (in remove mode: the click will remove the panel's stock).
- Blue - the panel already has the active stock, so clicking does nothing and drag-painting never double-applies (in remove mode: the panel has no stock to remove).
- Orange - no active stock is selected yet.
- Red - blocked: the pairing is invalid (see Rules below).
- Purple - eyedropper mode (Alt held).
Click paints one panel (one undo step per panel). Drag paints every panel you cross while the button is held. Plain SketchUp components that are not Cabybara panels can be painted too: they are adopted as generic panels, which is what makes them appear in nesting, pricing, reports and labels afterwards.
Modifiers
- Alt+Click (Command on Mac) - eyedropper: samples the hovered panel's stock and makes it active, highlighting it in the picker.
- Shift (hold) - stock map: every panel in the model is tinted with its stock's catalog color; gray means unassigned. A quick way to spot panels that were never stocked. Hardware parts (legs, hinges, handles, rails) are not tinted at all, so the map does not reveal unstocked hardware.
- Shift+Click - paints all panels of the hovered type inside the hovered cabinet at once (one undo step for the whole batch); on a standalone panel it paints just that panel. Works in remove mode too, stripping the stock from the whole type.
What painting writes
Painting sets the panel's stock id and, unless the panel's grain was set manually (with the Grain Painter or in the Components Manager), aligns its grain to the stock's default. With "Apply stock material on paint" enabled and the stock carrying a material file, the panel is also repainted visually (the confirmation message notes "(material updated)" when that happened).
Rules and warnings
- Hardware parts (legs, hinges, handles, rails) accept only hardware stocks, and regular panels accept only sheet, solid wood, veneer or marble stocks - invalid pairings show red and the click is refused with the reason.
- A stock whose thickness differs from the panel's actual thickness by more than 0.5 mm paints anyway but warns, e.g. "18mm stock on a 4mm panel".
- In remove mode, clicking a panel with no stock reports there is nothing to remove.
Every message appears briefly in the status bar; every paint is a normal SketchUp undo step.
