This course builds one real kitchen from an empty SketchUp model to a fabrication package: cut sheets, DXF files for your CAM software, printed labels and a customer quote. Every lesson gives exact values to type, so your result matches the checkpoints without any sample file.

Work the lessons in order. Each one takes five to ten minutes and ends with a checkpoint you can verify in your own model. When a lesson mentions a dialog or a setting, the reference page for that tool is linked, so you can go deeper without leaving the course.

Lessons

  1. Install: put the extension into SketchUp.
  2. Activate this computer: pair the computer to your account from the browser, and unpair it when it moves on.
  3. Set up your stocks: meet the stocks Cabybara ships with and put in your real prices.
  4. Lay out the room: generate the floor, walls and guide lines, with the stove and sink where they will be.
  5. Design the cabinets: a corner, a sink base, a utility cabinet, graded drawers, the stove and tower cabinets and three wall cabinets, each placed with one click.
  6. Stock or material?: paint the stove cabinets' five fronts black without a new stock, and learn when a change needs a new stock instead.
  7. Adopt a hand-drawn panel: draw three ground rails yourself, give them a stock, and check their grain and face.
  8. Price it with the customer: cost, price and the printed quotation, then live prices on the model.
  9. Nest the MDF and export: full sheets and offcuts in one run, then DXF for your CAM software, sheet drawings and labels from the nesting dialog.
  10. The production report: a grouped list for the HDF parts you send out, and the hardware shopping list.
  11. What's next: what you built, and where the reference picks up.

Before you start

  • SketchUp 2024 or 2026 on Windows. Lesson 0 installs the extension.
  • All units are millimeters. If your model template uses another unit, the values in these lessons still apply: the plugin's dialogs are always in millimeters.
  • Prices in the Stock Catalog are entered in IQD.
